He Helped Build One of the World's Largest Ad Platforms
The next time you buy or sell anything online, at all, think of Johann.

​Johann was employee 25 at GoTo.com, which invented the pay-for-click search model that revolutionized how search engine marketing (SEM) is done today.
​
​Johann was the early pioneer of creating the systems that allowed GoTo.com to work.​He built the data model and the systems that ran everything from customer-facing sales and service to the back-end CRM, Editorial, Billing, and Accounting. GoTo.com (later called Overture) was acquired by Yahoo for 1.63 billion dollars. ​
So when we say he’s building an industry-redefining company, we know what we’re talking about.

Startup Success
Then Johann led the startup “ContactPage.com,” where they invented geo-targeted search and applied the same PPC revenue model as GoTo.com, but for the Yellow Pages industry. It was acquired by Infospace Inc. in 2003.

Building to Billions
As an early team member of Microsoft’s Bing Ads platform, Johann supported website owners through PubCenter, aka The Publisher Platform. His success there propelled him to help with client management and ad quality systems through ClientCenter. As the AdCenter API Product Manager, he supported the top 50+ advertisers making over $1M a week on Bing search.

Johann also spent 20-plus years launching data-driven campaigns and negotiating major partnerships for Fortune 500 advertisers, building deep fluency in programmatic media, audience analytics, and revenue-share dealmaking.
He understands what brands need because he has sat across the table from them, delivered for them, and built the platforms they relied on.
